The Solar Powered Mosquito Blocker made by Malibu is a way to stop mosquitoes being able to track human scent. This stops them being able to locate humans near the device as so stop them being bitten.
This Mosquito Blocker using a solar panel built into the top of its design to charge the rechargeable batteries allowing them to power the device after dusk. The Blacker uses a chemical called Linalool that was developed in cooperation with the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). This chemical has been shown to be twice as effective as DEET and even more significantly better than Citronella oil which both work to deter mosquitoes by stopping them from being able to track human scent. The Blocker has been shown to work in a radius of up to 100 feet (30.5 meters).
The Mosquito Blocker gives off a soft amber glow while it is working after dusk. The device has an on/off switch allowing you to only have it in use when needed. The device uses filters with the chemical Linalool in, these will require replacing over time, though two are supplied with the product. The Blocker measures 23cm x 23cm x 23cm (9 in x 9 in x 9 in) and should be positioned somewhere within direct sunlight during the day to help it charge to the fullest of its abilities.
The Solar Powered Mosquito Blocker costs just $22.17 plus $11.09 in the US.
