Nanosolar have created a solar panel printing device that is capable of printing thin-film solar panels at an impressive 100 feet-per-minute. Other conventional solar-panel production systems are about 10 times more expensive than Nanosolar’s solar panel printing.
NanoSolar is the first solar panel manufacturer to produce thin-film photovoltaics at less than $1 per W. There was plenty of news about this a few months ago, but I thought the story was worth a mention on EnviroGadget.com. Providing we have enough surface area, this might be a practical solution to a renewable and affordable energy source.
