Sharp has released a new Blu-ray Disc player, being touted as energy saving, as well as HDMI support, Dolby True HD, a quick start of just 10 seconds. The BDHP21H disc player consumes 27Watts of power during operating, and 0.5 Watts of power on standby mode.
At a cost of £249, it’s a reasonable price compared to other Blu-ray Disc Players. After a quick search, I couldn’t find the power consumption of any other Blu-ray players, so I have no idea if 27W is actually good. However, unless it used low energy and eco-friendly manufacturing methods, big deal.
