The Anemometer & Wind Data Logger Kit allows you to accurately gauge how effective a wind turbine can be for you. The kit provides you with all the tools to build up an accurate picture to evaluate a site’s potential for a wind turbine, or to give accurate readings for those monitoring weather for things such as environmental studies or for outdoor events.
The Anemometer & Wind Data Logger Kit provides you with highly accurate pre-calibrated sensors that ensure that you recieve accurate wind speed and air temperature monitoring in one integrated package. Many anemometers can be out by around 3% – 5%, this can lead to larger errors in the amount of energy a wind turbine could provide, 9.3% and 15.8% errors in the amount of actual electricity produced. This Anemometer features wind tunnel verified 1% accuracy in the wind energy wind speed range (5-28m/s), this allows you to be able to evaluate your area’s potential for a wind turbine with greater accuracy, saving you from potentially expensive mistakes. There are a range of kits to suit all, able to also detect humidity, air pressure, or include a magnetic programmable wind vane.
The kits also feature automatic Weibull analysis of wind data, and comes with PC (Microsoft Windows) software and features live data plotting, data logging, atmospheric database plus many other functions. This software allows you to be able to assess a sites potential for wind generation quickly and easily and can handle multiple (up to 20) sensor inputs at once. Placement of a turbine is critical, unless you happen to have a flat area with no trees around for 100s of yards, even slight differences in location can cause a great difference in the amount of energy produced. A difference of 11 mph winds to 10 mph winds can produce a 33% increase in the amount of energy provided, so every slight benefit matters.
The Anemometer & Wind Data Logger Kit shows you clearly the renewable energy potential for your site or home. It can help you to find the right location for you turbine, allowing you to maximize the turbines performance, enabling you to reduce your carbon footprint and make savings on your energy bills.
